EGO eats: Coconut Honey Cake

Hi Egos, it's been way too long since my last post about food. However there will always be an occasion to bake. One has to eat after all. So here's a little recipe that my grandmother handed down to me. Once you've tried this cake you will think that the amount of coconut flakes, honey and sugar is far from enough in it.







Here is what you'll need:

dough
1 cup of sour cream
2,5 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp of baking powder

topping
150 g butter
2,5 cups of sugar
1 tbsp of honey
200 g of coconut flakes
1 egg

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Prepare the baking sheet and lay it out with baking paper. Mix the ingredients for the dough and spread it on the baking sheet. Leave it in there for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile prepare the topping. For that you just have to melt the butter in a pan on the oven, add the sugar and honey until it's all one liquid mixture. Take the pan off the oven to add the coconut flakes. Let it cool down and mix with our final egg!

By now the 10 minutes should be over. So now you can get to the good part. Take out the baking sheet and spread the mixture from the pan all over it. Put it back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the top is nicely done.
